As a chartered accountant and senior financial professional, Paul has had a successful 30-year career in the finance industry. This, coupled with his vast volunteer experience with charities such as YMCA of Greater Toronto and United Way Toronto, and as Chair of the Board of Regents at Victoria University in the University of Toronto, has enabled Paul to provide a wealth of skill and leadership to Start2Finish. He is also an avid runner and tri-athlete, and a passionate “coach” at one of S2F’s weekly Running & Reading Club programs.

Shevawn Adams served as Chair for our Board of Directors for a five year term. Since joining in 2007, her powerful commitment and enthusiasm towards Start2Finish has never ceased. Her current focus is on strategic planning, governance and, most recently, rebranding. In addition to owning her own design firm with projects in both Canada and the USA, Shevawn brings 30 years of experience in not-for-profit board management.

Peter Lambert has been a board member of Start2Finish since 2003. In addition to Secretary, Peter is a member of the Finance and Scholarship Committees. For the past 30 years, Peter has been active in the field of wealth management serving the needs of individual and institutional investors. Prior to Start2Finish, Peter was a founding member of Oakville Little League Baseball where he was president for 3 years. Peter holds a Masters of Science degree in Motor Learning from The Pennsylvania State University.

Stephen joined the board of Start2Finish in November 2011, and has taken on the role of Treasurer, as well as Chair of the Finance Committee. With several decades of experience as a senior finance professional, Stephen’s expertise is invaluable in ensuring that the highest level of integrity is maintained in relation to Start2Finish’s financial processes.

As a marketer, Clive brings 20 years of media strategy experience and an eye for innovation. Responsibilities as managing partner include go to market strategy, brand development, digital marketing and integrated channel strategies. Clive's strength is combining his knowledge with the client's requirements to create solutions that deliver results. In turn, this positions companies as the leader in their industry and among their audiences. Clive brings great expertise in helping to develop and implement a MarCom strategy for the Start2Finish brand.

Marla’s not for profit involvement began in her early career in social services working with at risk children and adolescents. In recent years she served as Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of the Center for Career Alternatives in Seattle, WA, and participated in the Citizens Impact Committee of United Way and the Healthcare Advisory Committee of the University of Montana. Marla is a seasoned human resources leader with experience in senior HR positions in both the US and Canada. She was thrilled to accept a position on the S2F Board in May 2012, and her breadth of HR leadership and experience in leading a variety of HR functions in different industries is an asset to Start2Finish’s continuing growth and success.

With over 41 years of experience as a lawyer and years of being a member of various boards of directors, Paul, brings with him extensive knowledge and experience working on large, complex transactions. As former Chair of the National Board of Directors of the Canadian Diabetes Association, as well as member of the Board of Directors & National Secretary of the Crohns & Colitis Foundation of Canada and Chair of the Board of Directors of Wilan Inc., Paul offers invaluable expertise in board governance and transformational change. Start2Finish is thrilled to have him on board as we continue our national expansion.
DR LEE FORD-JONES
INFECTIOUS DISEASES SPECIALIST AND CLINICAL RESEARCHER, THE HOSPITAL FOR SICK CHILDREN
Dr. Elizabeth Lee Ford-Jones currently holds the title of Infectious Disease Specialist and Clinical Researcher at The Hospital for Sick Children, in the Department of Pediatrics. Dr. Ford-Jones also serves as the Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Toronto. Her primary focus of study concerns vaccine preventable diseases, childhood encephalitis, and others. The renowned researcher, and co-editor for the Canadian Pediatric Society journal, validates Start2Finish’s Fitness Literacy Model, which caters to the child’s physical, social, and cognitive, health. A firm believer in the S2F cause, Dr. Lee once compared our “solution” to the polio-vaccine.
DIRECTOR - STRATEGY AND COMPETITIVE INTELLIGENCE, AIMIA
Brendan joined the Start2Finish Board of Directors in November 2014 after advising the Board on its strategic direction. He built his career as a strategy professional first with Secor Consulting, then with KPMG Management Consulting, and now with Aimia. Brendan brings insight, realism and optimism as he works with others to craft sound strategy. Brendan holds an M.Sc. in Public Policy and Administration from the London School of Economics and an HBA from the Ivey School of Business. Brendan is a competitive triathlete and an active alumnus of the Ivey Business School. His willingness to “get his hands dirty”, his youthful energy, and his passion to make a difference make him an invaluable asset to the Start2Finish team.
