Volunteer Social Media Manager

Hours: Average of 5 hours per week. (If you can volunteer more than 5 hours please let us know)
Location: Remote (with occasional in-person event coverage in the GTA or meeting in Mississauga)

Through after-school programs, book vending machines, and community initiatives, we empower children to build brighter futures.
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a fun and creative Volunteer Social Media Manager to help us spread awareness of our mission, engage donors and volunteers, and grow our online presence. This role involves content creation (images and reels), caption writing, content planning, and scheduling across multiple platforms.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Content Creation: Design engaging visuals, reels, and short-form videos using Canva and other creative tools.
Caption Writing: Write compelling and mission-driven captions to inspire engagement.
Content Planning & Scheduling: Develop and manage a content calendar to ensure a consistent and strategic posting schedule.
Posting & Community Engagement: Publish content across Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Facebook, and engage with our online community.
Event Coverage: Occasionally attend Start2Finish events in the GTA to capture photos and videos for social media.
Ad Management: Assist with Facebook and Google Ads, including boosting posts to increase reach and visibility.
Basic Analytics & Reporting: Track and report engagement metrics to help refine our content strategy using insights from social platforms.
Collaboration & Organization: Use Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Calendar, etc.) and Monday.com to coordinate with the team and manage content efficiently.
What We’re Looking For”
Passion for Start2Finish’s mission and a strong desire to make an impact.
Experience managing social media for brands, nonprofits, or personal projects.
Creativity in content creation, including graphics, short videos, and reels.
Strong writing skills with an understanding of social media tone and engagement strategies.
Familiarity with Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Facebook.
Knowledge of Google and Facebook Ads and boosting strategies.
Proficiency in Canva for creating social media graphics.
Comfortable using Google Suite and Monday.com for content planning and team collaboration.
Basic understanding of social media analytics (Instagram Insights, Facebook Analytics, etc.).
Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently while collaborating with the team.
