Turning Pages, Building Futures — Celebrating Our 2025 Book Tales Initiative

This year’s Book Tales Initiative was one for the books—literally and figuratively!

Over the course of several weeks, more than 50 Start2Finish program visits took place across the country, both in person and online, as part of our annual celebration of literacy and community. At each visit, guest readers and volunteers brought stories to life for the children in our Running & Reading Clubs, sharing joy, laughter, and inspiration.

Whether reading aloud to a room full of eager listeners, joining a virtual storytelling circle, or chatting one-on-one with a young reader about their favourite book, each guest played a powerful role in helping our children discover the magic and meaning of reading.

From coast to coast, children felt seen and supported by our incredible community of partners. This year, we were thrilled to welcome teams from:

  • Canada Life, who visited clubs across Canada to read and connect with our children

  • TD Bank, long-time supporters who joined us at our Lord Dufferin Club

  • Geotab, whose staff brought warmth and energy to our literacy celebrations

  • Amgen, who attended multiple Book Tales events and support our Backpack and LIT programs

  • GWL Realty Advisors (GWLRA), Regan Irish & Associates, Henderson Partners LLP, and the Larsen Foundation, whose presence meant so much to our young readers

  • And the Canadian Native Friendship Centre, who added cultural richness and heartfelt connection to the initiative

Together, we turned everyday club visits into extraordinary moments—moments that reminded our children that their voices, stories, and dreams matter.

Thank you to each guest, supporter, and reader who made this year’s Book Tales such a meaningful celebration of literacy and love. Your involvement is helping us turn pages into possibilities—and build brighter futures for children across Canada.
