(The other day) I got a chance to speak to Devon (a S2F alumni) for a couple of minutes. I told him how proud I am of him and how great it is to see him doing so well. He also thanked me and said how much he valued my presence as a coach at the program when he was younger. When I used to volunteer at Willow Road, I sometimes felt awkward (not feeling like I was good with kids) and I wished I could connect better with them. At the time I didn't realize how much of a difference it made just being a consistent and encouraging presence. It gives me a lot of joy to see where Devon is now in his life, and that is something I'll always be proud of. So thank YOU and the folks at Start2Finish for giving me the opportunity to experience that.
